AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Firstly, we have a normal greenhouse as the basic structure. But if you take a closer look, you can see that we have three individual compartments here, which can be operated separately with different plants, but also together with the same plants. Each individual compartment has:
- a soil moisture sensor to keep a constant eye on how much moisture is left and when to water again
- an air temperature sensor to monitor the temperature and, if necessary, initiate a temperature reduction through ventilation
- an air humidity sensor to keep the humidity in the air within the correct range
The pumps, which supply each compartment individually with water, are located in a compartment below. The centrepiece of the automated system can also be found here – the micro-controller, which monitors the individual units and controls the appropriate measures to promote good plant growth.
